Region One Online Instructor Certification Course New TxVSN-Approved Course!
The Region One Online Instructor Certification Course (ROOICC) is a five (5) week online course for teachers without experience in online instruction who are interested in becoming TxVSN online instructors. Aligned to the iNACOL National Standards for Quality Online Teaching, the ROOICC allows participants to explore the many aspects of online teaching and learning and enables them to develop the necessary skills to become an effective online instructor.

Teachers who are interested in enrolling in the Region One Online Instructor Certification Course (ROOICC) can do so by registering online through the Region One Staff Development site: www.esc1.net/staffdevelopment. The maximum enrollment for each course is 15 participants. Participants who are not able to enroll in the current course will be placed on a waiting list and will be given first priority for enrollment when the next course becomes available.

Course Fee
The cost for the five week online course is $500.00. Payment for the course must be made at time of registration. Participants are not considered enrolled until payment has been processed and approved. Acceptable forms of payment include PO, Credit Card, or Check. Please make all forms of payment payable to: Region One Education Service Center.

Professional Development for Teachers

Region One ESC is now a TxVSN Approved Professional Development Provider
Region One Education Service Center, a Texas Virtual School Network (TxVSN) approved professional development provider, is now offering online training for teachers without experience in online instruction who are interested in teaching online courses offered through TxVSN.

TEA has announced key partnerships to implement critical functions of the Texas Virtual School Network (TxVSN), including professional development for teaching online. Prior to teaching courses offered via the TxVSN, teachers are required to take TxVSN-approved professional development that specifically focuses on learning to teach effectively in the online environment. Information about course offerings, professional development, and participation in the TxVSN is available online at http://www.txvsn.org. Region One Online Leadership AcademyNew!
The Region One Online Leadership Academy is a three (3) week fully online course specifically designed for secondary campus administrators who are interested in developing a thorough understanding of the many facets of online teaching and learning environments. Aligned to the International Society for Technology in Education National Educational Technology Standards for Administrators, this course provides opportunities for administrators to develop the necessary skills to become an effective leader for online instruction at their campus. Through a series of weekly modules, administrators will learn how to effectively promote, support,
manage, and assess virtual learning.
